Lean on Phil…
Don’t allow yourself to become anxious
As the countdown to Level 4 alert ticks by, I am once again drawn to the words held within Phil 4:6-7 (be anxious for nothing).
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6-7)
I think that in these troubling times, we need to have faith. When it comes to faith, I’m drawn to the scripture verse in Hebrews, Chapter 11, verse 6, which says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” [The ‘Him” that this scripture refers to is God.]
If you do not know God or have a personal relationship with Him, this scripture might not mean much to you. So I ask you to borrow some of my faith and let my belief strengthen you until you can build up yours.
Today, I received a notification from my Bible App, which asked if I would pray the following prayer:
Your Word says that You answer people when they call on Your name, and that You deliver them.
Right now, we ask that You would heal those who are sick or who are carrying the COVID-19 virus without knowing it. Heal them and protect those around them.
Provide a cure for the Coronavirus and heal our economy. Bring a quick and miraculous end to the darkness in our world.
Whether Your healing comes today, next week, or next month, we believe that You will heal our world. And we will continue to praise You, even as we wait for answers. Please deliver us.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.“
